Beauty is an essential goal of an architect. Beauty is also a prerequisite of sustainability – if something is appreciated it guarantees a long life. Faro sees beauty on several levels. A beautiful building with nice detail. But also a building that keeps or even increases its beauty over time. A building that takes root in its surroundings and in our architectural tradition.
A single recipe for beauty is hard to give. Beauty for us is a way of working. In the past, FARO has tried to explain beauty with phrases on postcards:
Trendsetters: we endeavor pure beauty. A FARO design has a distinct character – beauty on several layers – that may be complex and intriguing. No mix of flavors – designing is all about making choices.
Tailors: we create custom space. A good and stimulating answer to our client’s question. We also create a suit to measure for society, tailored for user and passers-by. And finally a suit to measure for the specific context. A FARO project fits in with the larger goal of the urban plan or environmental requirements.
Cheeseheads: we know our background and we emanate this. This doesn’t mean that we only get inspired by Dutch sources, but we are aware of what can be found in our own back yard. We find our own way intelligently and with our own signature from our rich architectural history.
